An important meeting held here on Wednesday with Chief Traffic Officer Dr. Zahidullah in the chair, reviewed the city’s traffic system and ongoing initiatives, a handout said.
The meeting, held at the Traffic Headquarters, was attended by senior officials including SP Traffic Headquarters Arbab Shafiullah Jan, SP City Riaz Khan Khalil, SP Cantt Abdul Rahim, SP Town Imtiaz Khan, DSPPs, traffic officers, and traffic wardens.
During the session, Dr. Zahidullah was briefed on the progress of various actions aimed at improving traffic management. Key areas of focus included operations against encroachments, the use of flashlights, fancy number plates, unregistered vehicles, tinted glasses, helmet violations, one-wheeling, and other ongoing campaigns.
Expressing satisfaction with the current efforts, Dr. Zahidullah emphasized the need for continued improvement in the traffic system. He urged the City Traffic Police Peshawar to leverage all available resources to ensure smooth and uninterrupted travel for citizens. He made it clear that any form of negligence would not be tolerated in achieving these goals.
Dr. Zahidullah also directed the traffic officers and wardens to intensify daily anti-encroachment operations, stressing the importance of eliminating encroachments to facilitate smooth traffic flow and reduce inconvenience for the public. He further instructed the officers to strictly enforce traffic laws and take stern legal action against violators, without any leniency.
CTO Peshawar reiterated that ensuring a functional and efficient traffic system remains a priority, and strict action would be taken against anyone found negligent in fulfilling their duties. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment to maintaining law and order in Peshawar’s traffic system.
