LAHORE
Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued written order for hearing the petition of Amna Urooj , accused in renowned playwright Khalil ur Rehman Qamar case .
Petition has been filed by Amna Urooj regarding custodial violence against her.
The court while issuing written order on the petition of the accused Amna Urooj regarding custodial violence against her has directed DG FIA to register complaints against police officers besides initiating proceedings.
It was said in the written order that it has been proved from medical report Amna Urooj was subjected to torture during physical remand.
Custodial torture is offence under Custodial death act-2022.
LHC remarked investigations into this case are imperative to punish the accused persons.
According to accused Amna Urooj she was subjected to mental and physical torture during physical remand.
It was said in the written order the accused was presented before court on court’s order. Amna Urooj told the application has been filed on her behalf.
