Customs officials sized drugs worth 3 billion in two weeks

Customs Collectorate Amjad-ur-Rehman on Friday claimed to have seized drugs worth Rs3 billion during the last two weeks and arrested three Afghani nationals and one Pakistani in different raids.
Talking to media, Amjad-ur-Rehman said that during the last two weeks around 1000kg of drugs worth Rs 3 billion have been seized on Pak-Afghan border crossing.
He said that customs officials recovered 524kg Hashish, 255kg heroin; 281kg opium 22 kg Ice and also seized five vehicles being used for drugs smuggling.
Mr Amjad said that all raids have been conducted on tip-off, adding that investigation has been launched to dig-out the network of drug pushers.
He said that most of the drugs were being supplied to educational institutions of the province.
Customs officials also claimed that drugs smuggling have increase after the Taliban have came in power in Afghanistan.
The customs officials also appreciated the performance of the FC personnel in providing support in raids in anti-drugs actions.
