As many as 3,000 daily wages workers of Pakistan international airlines (PIA) at
Benazir Bhutto Airport Islamabad have been deprived of salaries since last three months, increasing their domestic dispute due to financial issues.
According to sources in PIA, the government hired the services of a private company named Falcrum Corporation Pvt which has been violating labour laws by paying salaries of 12,000 monthly instead of 15,000 to the daily wagers.
The worker sources said that the company was not paying salary to the workers for three months therefore they were facing huge problems in family causing increased domestic disputes with family members due to financial crisis.
The workers warned the government to protest demonstration against airport authority and stop their work for indefinite period if their demands were not fulfilled immediately.
They also appealed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take action against the concerned authority who violated labours law and the workers also urged the chief justice of Pakistan to take sue moto notice in this regard so the workers could get their salaries and overcome financial crunch.
