Women University Swabi has officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art preschool and daycare center for the children of its students and faculty members, marking the first facility of its kind among women’s universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner Swabi Nasrullah, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Alina Shakeel, and Additional Assistant Commissioner Nusrat.
The guests were welcomed by Vice Chancellor Dr. Ghazala Yasmin along with the university administration. They toured various sections of the newly established center and were briefed on the safe, nurturing, and educational environment prepared for young children. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Ghazala Yasmin noted that student-mothers and faculty members had long faced challenges due to the absence of proper childcare facilities. She said the project was launched to address this need, enabling mothers to continue their education and professional duties with peace of mind. “The university is committed to empowering women through education and professional development, and the daycare center is a continuation of this mission,” she added. Deputy Commissioner Nasrullah praised the university’s efforts, stating that such initiatives are vital for strengthening women’s roles in education and society.
