Deputy Commissioner, Khyber Abunasir paid a surprise visit to Jamrud and Sakhi Pul Bazaars and checked price lists of various food items.
Flanked by Additional Assistant Commissioner (revenue) Dr Amir Zeb and Tehsildar Jamrud Asif Ali Shah DC,Khyber examined different sections of the Bazaar and checked price lists and quality of fruits, vegetables and other edibles in addition with facilities observed, provided to the believers in the holy month of Ramazan.
Two persons were also detained while collecting illicit money from the hand pushcarts in Jamrud Bazaar and were put behind the bars for further legal process.
The district administrative officer urged the traders to strictly follow the price lists and no one would permit to fleece the residents by charging extra in Ramazan.
He also directed the handcart owners in Jamrud Bazaar to continue their business at the site, reserved for them and avoid violating price lists.
