A high-level defence delegation of the Democratic Republic of Congo, headed by Lt Gen Banza Mwilambwe Jules, Chief of Defence Forces, Democratic Republic of Congo, called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security and avenues for enhanced defence cooperation came under discussion.
The Air Chief highlighted the longstanding cordial relations between Pakistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo and underscored the importance of enhanced defence cooperation between the two countries. He reiterated PAF’s resolve to further strengthen defence ties and broaden avenues of collaboration, particularly through enhanced interaction, training and exchange of expertise between the armed forces.
The Air Chief also apprised the visiting dignitary of PAF’s indigenous capabilities and its continued efforts towards self-reliance.
The visiting dignitary appreciated the professionalism, operational preparedness and high standards of training maintained by Pakistan Air Force. He expressed keen interest in PAF’s indigenous capabilities and acknowledged the significant progress achieved by PAF through indigenization and self-reliance.
He underscored his resolve to rebuild & modernize Democratic Republic of Congo’s Air Force and expressed his earnest desire in benefiting from Pakistan Air Force’s vast professional expertise.
The visit reflects the shared resolve of both countries to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation and foster enduring institutional linkages, contributing to regional peace and stability.
