Delegation of PIC visits KP Information Commission

A four-member delegation of the Punjab Information Commission (PIC)on Friday visited Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission to share exchange of knowledge, and experience through exclusive briefings on the working of both the Commissions followed by visit of different sections of the KPIC.
The Deputy Director Communication of the KPIC, Sayed Saadat Jahan, gave a detailed presentation on the working and achievements of the KPIC.
He said that commission was also facing a number of challenges including the shortage of human resource.
He, however, added that the KPIC is also a role model in many instances. Jahan dilated upon the importance of media and communications and briefed the delegation on how to interact with media and improve visibility in mass media and social media besides designing media campaign through strategic communication planning.
Information Commissioners, KP, Arshad Ahmed and Muhammad Irshad, gave an overview of the KPIC, PIOs training mechanism on RTI Law and status of appointments of both the PIOs and KPIC staff.
Both the Commissioners added that such visits should be paid from time to time so as to learn from each other’s experiences.
They also briefed the delegation on the statistical data of RTI request, complaints besides status of RTI Act implementation in KP and challenges being faced by the Commission.
The visit ended with a vote of thanks from to the Commission by the delegation.
