Dengue claims two more lives in KP

Total actives cases reached 2,469 in the province

PESHAWAR: At least two more people have died due to dengue fever, taking the toll from the mosquito-borne viral disease to 12 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the provincial daily situation report by the health department, the fatalities were reported from Khyber and Nowsehra.

The report shared that during the same period of time 392 people were tested positive for dengue virus, taking the tally to 12460 in the province.

According to data, the majority cases, 180 reported from Peshawar and 270 from Mardan district.

With 13 fresh cases hospitalized in district Mardan, the health officials revealed that 89 patients of the dengue fever are under treatment at different hospitals of the province.

The total confirmed reported cases in the last 24 hours include 22 in Bannu, 29 in Kohat, 89 in Mardan, 180 in Peshawar, 20 in Swabi, 10 in Kohistan-Upper and 9 in Karrak.

The provincial health department confirmed two death cases, one each from Khyber and Nowsehra.

District Mardan and Peshawar remain to continue hotspots of the mosquito-borne diseases in the province where collectively 350 patients suffered from the dengue virus.

The health department KP confirmed that so far a total of 9979 patients have been recovered from the dengue fever in different districts while 12 deaths have been reported from the disease in the province this year.

It added that during the same period of time laboratories confirmed a total of 392 cases taking the tally of confirmed cases jumped to 12460 in the province. The number of active cases from the infection in KP was 2469 on Tuesday.
