Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Science and Information Technology, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz, has said that the “Employable Digital Skills Initiative” is a landmark project that will transform the lives of young people.
He added that this initiative is not only a guarantee of a brighter future for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also for the entire country. He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony held today at the CM House, Peshawar.
Dr. Shafqat Ayaz said that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is taking practical steps to equip youth with modern skills and to enable them to play a significant role in the digital economy.
He emphasized that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and PTI founding Chairman Imran Khan, the provincial government has prioritized making Khyber Pakhtunkhwa self-sufficient in the field of Information Technology and digital skills.
During the ceremony, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz was briefed that following the advertisement of this program, more than 6,000 applications were received from across the province.
After scrutiny, over 4,000 candidates were declared eligible, of which more than 2,000 candidates passed the screening test.
These courses are not limited to basic computer or IT knowledge, but also include Graphic Design, Web Development, Mobile App Development, Business Intelligence, Digital Marketing, and particularly Cyber Security.
Dr. Shafqat Ayaz said that Cyber Security is one of the most critical fields of the modern era, and by equipping the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with expertise in this domain, they will be able to contribute effectively to national security as well as the global digital market.
He further stated that this project is not just a training program but a true life-changing initiative that will open new doors of employment, entrepreneurship, and growth for the youth.
The provincial government, he said, is determined to create an environment where the youth can showcase their talent globally and position Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a central player in the digital economy.
Dr. Shafqat Ayaz expressed hope that today’s ceremony at the CM House, Peshawar, marks the beginning of a new era for the youth of the province. He said this project will directly benefit thousands of families and indirectly bring opportunities to hundreds of thousands of people across the region.
