The Deputy Commissioner Amir Afaz Thursday directed district administration to set up Sasta Bazar with availability of all commodities on the subsidized rates in the holy month of Ramadan.
He was presiding over a price review committee (PRC) meeting here at his office. It was told that PRC has formulated a strategy to provide better facilities to consumers during the holy month by monitoring profiteering and hoarding of food items by the wholesalers and providing edible items on fair prices.
It was decided that all edible items would be made available on reduced prices from Rs 3 to 12 per item at Sasta Bazaras while the weight of “Tandoori Roti” would also be increased up to 10 gram.
The DC on the occasion thanked traders and appreciated their cooperation for decreasing the prices of food items. He directed the administration to take strict action against profiteers during the month of Ramadan.
He also directed Assistant commissioner Abbottabad, Additional Assistant Commissioner and Food Inspector Abbottabad to remain present at the food and vegetable market at the time of auction in the morning and finalize the price lists in their presence.
Amir Afaq directed administration to remain in the bazars till Aftari to monitor the prices and implement the official price lists. He also directed the people to send their suggestions and complaints.
In the meeting Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad, Food Controller Abbottabad, representatives of the All Trades Associations of Abbottabad, president and general secretary Abbottabad Press Club were also present.
