The health officials of District Headquarter Hospital, Landi Kotal boycotted Outdoor Patient Departments (OPDs) against prolonged power off on Monday.
Doctors and paramedical staff in joint protest gave up their officials’ duties and kept locked all the OPDs of the health center.
Speaking on the occasion the health officials said that for the electricity supply was suspended in day time however it resume in nigh only for four hours that severely affected efficiency of the hospital.
Lab, x-rays machine, operation theater and other electronic equipment in the hospital were non-functional of load shedding and the doctors were compelled to examine patients in battery or mobile light, they regretted.
When the Senior Divisional Officer, Landi Kotal was contacted on the issue he said that the hospital had 130 million rupees arrears but still four hours electricity was supplied to it in twenty four hours.
Keeping in view direction of high up, with increase in arrears, the duration of power supply had been decreased, he added.
On the approval of high officials, additional electricity would be ensured to the hospital, he said.
On the other hand, hundreds of patients who visited the hospital returned without getting treatment due to the boycott of doctors in OPDs.
