Justice Amir Bhatti of Lahore High Court (LHC) has remarked dollar value is going up day by day but it is not known governmente is sleeping where.
The case of non payments to government contractors by government came up for hearing before LHC bench led by Justice Amir Bhatti Wednesday.
Justice Amir Bhatti remarked “government get complete the works by the contractors but does not make payments to them. Apparently government is committing fraud with contractors. People will not tolerate fraud.
Finance secretary Punjab said before the court “ we have not become able to achieve set targets of set tax. Punjab is facing shortfall amounting to Rs 100 billion.
Justice Amir Bhatti remarked “ executive has failed. Dollar value is rising day by day. We don’t know government is sleeping where. Sometimes it increases inflation by enhancing tax on petroleum products. Thing like governemnt is nowhere seen. People are getting no relief. This system was also in place before but such high cost Hajj and uncertain situation was not prevalent.
He remarked “ government daily invites head of any country to Pakistan and seeks aid billion of rupees. Despite obtaining billion of dollars by the government, dollar value is ascending rather than descending.
Government acquires billion of rupees but it is not known to any one this money goes where. If nothing else can be done by the government then it should at least rein in growing value of dollar.
