Dr. Jawad successfully defends his PhD in Public Health

Peshawar: Khyber Medical University (KMU) is pleased to announce that Dr. Muhammad Jawad, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Family Medicine, has successfully defended his PhD in Public Health. His dissertation, titled “Development of Adherence Tool and Digital Intervention ‘DMD1’ to Improve Adherence to Management in Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus Patients”, was completed under the supervision of Dr. Saima Afaq (University of York, UK), with co-supervision from Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq (Vice Chancellor, KMU) and Prof. Dr. Arshad Hussain (Northwest General Hospital). The PhD defense was evaluated by Prof. Dr. Aliya Hissam, Prof. Dr. Hajo Zeeb (Germany), and Dr. Khalid Rehman (KMU), who unanimously recommended Dr. Jawad for the award of the PhD degree. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq and KMU faculty members congratulated Dr. Jawad, highlighting that his research will significantly contribute to improving the management of Type 1 Diabetes in low-resource settings and serve as an inspiration for future scholars. They further emphasized that this achievement reflects KMU’s strong commitment to advancing research and healthcare innovation, a mission that will continue with even greater dedication in the future.
