Peshawar: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Science, Technology and Information Technology, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz, attended Independence Day ceremony at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) as the chief guest, hoisted the national flag, and cut the cake. The event was attended by senior provincial government officials, KPITB staff, and a large number of citizens. In his address, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz said that August 14 is not just a day of celebration, but a reminder to renew our pledge to make our homeland truly free, sovereign, and developed. He emphasized that real freedom demands sacrifice, determination, and continuous struggle. He paid tribute to the people of Pakistan who have struggled for true freedom, and to the founder and chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan — who has been in imprisonment for the last two years and continues to lead this struggle. Dr. Ayaz stated that under the leadership of Imran Khan, the nation has waged a historic struggle against corruption, slavery, and injustice, and today, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur is carrying forward this mission. The Special Assistant said that the provincial government is working tirelessly to provide facilities to the public, advance the vision of a Digital Pakistan, and make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa self-reliant in IT and technology. He further mentioned that initiatives such as free public Wi-Fi in public places, modern e-governance systems, and the establishment of IT hubs for youth are part of this vision. Dr. Shafqat Ayaz concluded his speech by saying that the future of Pakistan is bright, and we must unite to turn this dream into reality, so that future generations inherit a strong, prosperous, and dignified Pakistan.
