DRC inaugurated at Faqirabad Police Station to ensure swift justice

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed on Wednesday inaugurated a Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) at Faqirabad Police Station, aimed at providing quick and merit-based resolution of public grievances.
The ceremony was attended by SP Faqirabad Division Resham Jahangir, DSP Faqirabad Circle Ijaz Nabi Khan, SHO Aqib Khan, Chairman DRC Faqirabad Syed Zahid Akhunzada and other members.
Speaking on the occasion, the CCPO said the DRC had been established to address issues faced by residents of the Faqirabad area on a priority basis. He added that efforts were being made to further strengthen and activate DRCs in view of their effectiveness in providing timely justice.
Dr Saeed Ahmed said special directives had been issued to ensure strict implementation of DRC decisions, enabling citizens to receive quick, affordable and fair justice, which he termed a reflection of growing public trust.
He further stated that most applications would be referred to DRC chairmen for prompt disposal to ensure timely resolution of disputes on merit. He noted that existing DRCs in Peshawar were already providing justice at the doorstep and were being made more efficient.
On the occasion, Chairman DRC Syed Zahid Akhunzada and other members thanked the CCPO and presented suggestions, on which instructions were issued to the relevant officers for immediate implementation.
