A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Educational Testing and Evaluation Authority (ETEA) and National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA). Now all candidates appearing in the examinations under the ETEA will undergo biometric verification at NADRA’s e-facility centers.
The MOU signing ceremony, held at the ETEA office, was attended by senior officials of the authorities.
As per the agreement, it will be mandatory for candidates to go through this verification process; any suspicious person will not be able to enter the ETEA exams.
According to the agreement, biometric verification of any suspicious person will be possible in the test centers as well.
For this purpose, NADRA will provide corporate IDs to ETEA officials at examination centers across Pakistan through which the on-the-spot verification process will be completed using biometric devices.
With the involvement of NADRA in the verification process, it will not be possible for fake candidates to appear in the exams.
Due to this verification process, blacklisted candidates will be completely barred from appearing in the ETEA test by changing their identity and the possibility of taking the exam in place of another candidate will also be eliminated:
ETA Executive Director Muhammad Imtiaz Ayub reiterated his commitment that ETEA will take all possible steps to provide better facilities to eligible candidates and prevent any kind of fraudulent candidates so that examinations conducted under ETEA will be based on merit.
Under the agreement, the profiles of more than 1 million people who are already in the authority ‘s system will also be biometrically verified, while every new candidate will have to get their profile verified through biometrics at e-facility outlets across the country.
Executive Director ETEA said that in the next phase, the authority will plan to install artificial intelligence cameras at the entrances of the examination centers so that the attendance and verification process of the candidate is completed automatically at the time of entry into the center.
He further said that the candidate will be able to not only complete the verification process but also submit the fee for the test at any of the e-facility outlets across the country.
