ISLAMABAD
Election Commission (EC) has adjourned hearing of confiscation of PTI prohibited funding case till August 22.
PTI has filed supplementary reply in EC. EC reserved judgment on PTI right to file more reply. Confiscation of prohibited funding case pertaining to PTI came up for hearing before a 3-membercommission presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Tuesday.
PTI junior lawyer Navid Anjum appeared before EC and filed supplementary reply. Junior lawyer said PTI record has been taken awayafter May 9. CEC inquired how many supplementary replies will be filed. The junior lawyer said we are compelled under the prevailing situation.
CEC inquired should we then withdrawyour right to file reply. CEC said last chancewas given to youon previous hearing for filing reply. We have given several chances already to file reply in this case.
Junior lawyer to PTI said Anwar Mansoor is seriously ill, therefore, he could not appear. Circumstances are causing delay in filing reply.
CEC said last chance means last chance. EC should do what on the order of previous hearing. EC wants to dispose of all cases before general election. Your program to file reply seems to be of 8 years.
Junior lawyer said our offices wereattacked and they took away all the record.
CEC said Anwar Mansoor fulfilled all his promises before it. We will conductmore proceedings in this case in the light of Islamabad High Court decision. EC reserved judgment on PTI right for filing more reply.
The hearing of the case was adjourned till August 22.
