ISLAMABAD: Election Commission (EC) during the hearing of the case of intra party election, change in the constitution and party accounts of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PK MAP) has refused to accept Mehmood Khan Achakzai as chairman of party. A five members commission led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) heard the case. Counsel for PK MAP appeared in the case. CEC inquired from the counsel about the person who signed power of attorney. The counsel told that there are signatures of chairman of party on it. CEC remarked as intra party election has not been held therefore, there is no chairman of party present at this time. The commission gave indication about taking power of attorney on record and issuing separate order about its status. The hearing of the case was adjourned till August 19 on the request of counsel for PK MAP for further arguments. ONLINE
