ISLAMABAD
Election Commission (EC) has rejected government of Balochistan plea for extending date for by election in respect of National Assembly (NA) constituency NA-256.
Balochistan government had written a letter to EC seeking extension in date for by-election in NA-256.
It was said in the letter there is issue of law and order in NA-256 Khuzdar. Therefore, date for by polling in this constituency be extended.
As per media reports, EC has rejected Balochistan government plea for extending by election date.
According to EC sources by polls in NA-256 Khuzdar are scheduled on April 5, 2026.
This seat had fallen vacant due to resignation of BNP (Mengal) chief Akhtar Mengal resignation from the seat.
