By-elections on 33 NA seats including 8 constituencies of KP to be held on March 27
PESHAWAR
The Election Commission of Pakistan notified District Returning Officers (DROs), Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) for holding by-elections on eight constituencies of National Assembly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The ECP had earlier announced March 27 as the schedule for the by-polls in 33 constituencies of which eight constituencies belonged to KP.
The appointment of the DROs ROs and AROs has been made for holding by-elections in constituencies NA-17 Haripur-I, NA-18 Swabi-I, NA-25 Nowshera-I, NA-26 Nowshera-II, NA-32 Kohat, NA-38 D.I.Khan-II, and NA-43 Khyber-1.
According to the ECP notification, seven districts of the province where by-elections for NA would be held March 27 have appointed seven each DROs and ROs and 16 AROs mostly Assistant and Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts.
Additionally, the ECP has also delegated magisterial powers to the ROs, besides imposing a ban on the transfers and postings of officials during by- elections in the districts to ensure peaceful and transparent elections.
