WHO gives surgical kits worth Rs750000 to LRH

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Thursday handed over surgical kits worth 570,000 to the officials of the provincial health department for the treatment and operations of Police Lines Peshawar blast injured admitted in the hospitals of the province.
Dr Babir Alam, head of WHO sub-office in Peshawar, provided surgical kits to Director General (DG ) Health Services Dr Shaukat Ali in his office.
DG Health Dr Shaukat Ali on this occasion appreciated the efforts of the organization for the injured persons of the blast.
He said that WHO has always supported the Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in times of trouble and provided all possible support.
The organization has also actively participated in the relief activities and provided technical assistance to the department in the flood and other testing times.
Dr Babir said that the kits which included surgical kits would be used for the injured admitted in Lady Reading Hospital (LRH).
He said that a number of wounded people required operations and other medical treatment for the kits are safe and tested in such conditions.
Dean of the LRH Dr Junaid Sarfaraz who also present on this occasion said the surgical kits provided by WHO consisted of different types of injections, bandages, surgical items for external use, different types of medicines and other necessary items.
