PESHAWAR
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday announced that Scrutiny of nomination papers for second by-elections will be held from 21st September to 24th September 2024.
The election watchdog has imposed a ban on promotions and transfers of government employees in these districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to schedule the list of candidates who submitted nomination papers will be released on 20 September 2024.
The list of candidates whose nomination papers will be approved will be released on 25 September 2024.
Appeals against acceptance and rejection of papers can be filed from 26 to 28 September 2024. These appeals will be decided by October 2, 2024
Candidates will be able to withdraw their nomination papers till October 3.
On October 4, 2024, the final list of candidates will be released and the election symbols will be allotted to them. Polling will be held on 20 October 2024.
On 23 October 2024, the returning officers will announce the final results.
Public officials including the Prime Minister, Speaker/Deputy Speaker of the National and Provincial Assemblies, Federal and Provincial Ministers will be prohibited from going to these councils until elections and announcing development projects there.
