PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday suspended the bye-elections to the vacant seats of local councils in tribal district Kurram due to the worst law and order situation. These polls were scheduled by the election watchdog on 27 August and now will be held after the normalization of the situation in the area. In the light of order issued by ECP, “ The Election Commission of Pakistan is pleased to postpone Bye-elections to the extent of vacant seats of Local Councils in District Kurram due to the worst law and order situation and as requested by District Returning Officer concerned and Home & Tribal Affairs Department”.
