Education minister pays surprise visit to exam center in Abbottabad

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for education Arshad Ayub Khan on Thursday carried out surprise inspections of matriculation examination centres in Abbottabad, a handout said. During the visit, the minister was accompanied by Chairman Abbottabad Education Board Inayatullah Waseem. He inspected multiple examination centres across the city to review arrangements and facilities provided to students.
Mr Khan directed authorities to ensure a comfortable and conducive environment for candidates, stressing that student welfare remained a top priority during examinations. He reiterated the government’s zero tolerance policy towards cheating, warning that no leniency would be shown to those involved in unfair means. He added that strict action would also be taken against examination staff found facilitating malpractice.
“The government is on a mission to eliminate the culture of cheating from its roots,” he said, adding that action was already being taken against students found violating examination rules in accordance with the law. Later, the minister visited the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Abbottabad, where he inspected the central control room overseeing examination monitoring.
Officials briefed him on the digital surveillance system, informing that 486 examination centres had been established across Hazara Division, with over 360 centres being monitored through cameras.
Mr Khan also interacted directly with examination staff via the control room and expressed satisfaction over the overall arrangements made by the board.
He said that he was visiting examination centres across the province on the instructions of the chief minister to ensure transparency and merit in the examination process.
