Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Housing, stated that full efforts are being made to ensure the timely completion of the New Peshawar Valley project, which will be completed in accordance with the public’s aspirations and will offer modern amenities.
He expressed these views while presiding over a review meeting in Peshawar regarding the completion of the Peshawar Valley project.
The meeting was attended by Secretary of the Housing Department, Khayam Hassan, Director General Imran Wazir, and other relevant officials. On this occasion, the Secretary of Housing informed the Special Assistant about the progress made on the decisions taken in the previous meeting concerning the New Peshawar Valley, while the Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Authority briefed the attendees, stating that the New Peshawar Valley project is the largest housing project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, covering an area of 106,000 kanals, including many villages and areas.
He mentioned that in the initial phase, the chairman of the jirga committee had settled compensation and other matters with the landowners, and weekly reports are being presented to the Secretary of Housing.
The Director General also informed the meeting participants that the major progress in the housing project so far is the expressway, which had been an obstacle to the completion of the New Peshawar Valley Housing Scheme for the past 15 years.
He added that this housing project consists of eight phases and will meet modern residential requirements, including facilities such as a health zone, colleges and universities, mosques, and a sports complex.
The Special Assistant showed keen interest in the briefing, stating that all pending issues related to land should be resolved through the cooperation of the concerned Member of the National Assembly and jirgas. He further mentioned that equal facilities will be provided in each phase of the New Peshawar Valley Housing Scheme.
This housing project will be completed according to the vision of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will prove to be a significant milestone in the province’s development.
