Electricity consumers likely to get relief of billion of rupees

ISLAMABAD: Electricity consumers all over Pakistan including K-Electric are likely to get a big relief of RS 63940000000 (63 billion 94 crore rupees). DISCOs have filed application with NEPRA on adjustment for first quarterly of the calendar year 2026. The application will be heard on May 19. According to application capacity charges witnessed decline by Rs 36837000000 (Rs 36 billion, 83 crore and 70 lac). DISCOS have said in the petition charges on account of use of system and market operation fee decreased by Rs 11240000000 (Rs 11 billion 24 crore). Reduction to the tune of Rs 23510000000 (Rs 23 billion, 51 crore) is requested under the head of incremental units. The final decision to afford relief to consumers will be taken after NEPRA hearing.
