In view of law and order situation in Upper and Lower Kurram, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health department has taken urgent action and dispatched a significant consignment of emergency medicines to the District Health Officer (DHO) in Hangu district to address medical needs in the affected areas.
According to an official statement, the consignment includes essential supplies such as surgical gloves, anti-snake venom, and tetanus toxoid injections. Additional emergency medicines, provided by the Medical Emergency Response Foundation (MERF), include a broad range of basic emergency medical supplies to support ongoing healthcare efforts in the region.
Director General Health Services, Dr Muhammad Saleem, stated that the Regional Director, Medical Superintendents (MS), and DHOs were in close coordination with the district and regional administrations to ensure effective medical assistance.
Given the current communication challenges, Hangu district has been designated as a key hub for medical operations, enabling uninterrupted support to the crisis-hit areas.
The health department has assured the public of an ample stock of emergency medicines in its warehouses.
Plans are underway to explore all viable methods to transport medical supplies to health centers in Upper and Lower Kurram.
The department emphasized its commitment to providing timely and adequate medical assistance in the face of any emergency, reiterating its dedication to public welfare during this challenging time.
