‘Eradication of polio virus is top priority of the govt’

Eradication of polio virus is the top priority of the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash.
Chief Secretary Dr. Shehzad Khan Bangash said this while presiding over a meeting regarding the ongoing Polio Eradication campaign in the province.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Health Tahir orakzai, All the Divisional Commissioners, All Regional Police Officers, concerned Deputy Commissioners, District Police Officers, Director General Health Niaz Ali, Coordinator EOC Abdul Basit and other government officials.
Dr Bangash has said that polio eradication is the top priority of government of khyber pakhtunkhwa and vowed to stamp out the crippling disease from the region with concerted efforts at all levels. On this occasion, prayers were offered for the police personnel who were martyred by the terrorists during the ongoing anti-polio campaign in district tank.
He also paid rich tribute to the Polio workers, Police personnel, saying that nation would not forget the invaluable sacrifices of the polio workers and security personnel who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.
On the occasion, Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari, stressed on the need to work from modern and creative angle to ensure better results of Anti-polio campaign and said that eradication of polio virus from the country is our national duty. He said that strict security measures have been taken in this regard and all resources are being utilized by the police without any compromise.
Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa expressed the hope of complete eradication of polio virus from the region and directed the District Officers to be in the field and submit their reports to the Chief Secretary’s office time to time.
