MARDAN: Assistant commissioner, Ayesha Tahir inaugurated library and centennial readers club at Government Centennial Model High School No. 3 Mardan. In this connection a function was held at the school. AC Ayesha Tahir, DEO Male Zahid Muhammad, principal Hafiz Zubier Ahmed, Sher Hussain, Ikram Bacha Hafiz Inam and other addressed the function. Speakers said that this library will improve the extra-curricular activities of the students. Speakers said that in this era of mobile and social media, when the new generation has moved away from books and the role of social media has increased in their extracurricular activities, due to which there has been an alarming decrease in book reading. They argued that to reduce or achieve this great goal, the Centennial Readers Club was officially established under the patronage of Principal Hafiz Zubair Ahmed in which there is a strong representation of teachers and students who will be continuously committed to achieve this goal. They added that there will be a mandatory period of library for each class in a week, the capacity of which is kept in the daily timetable according to the curriculum and scheme of studies.
