Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the support of UNICEF, arranged a grand ceremony regarding “breastfeeding” in the DHO office of South Waziristan tribal district, Wana, and a walk was also arranged.
Speaking on the occasion, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Zainul Abidin Wazir, Focal Person DHO Sijjad, MS Dr. Sadiq, VC Chairman Maulana Naik Muhammad Wazir and District Nutrition Manager SWTD Waris Wazir said.
That a child must be exclusively breastfeeding up to the age of six, breastfeeding develops self-confidence and the child’s personality.
The speakers said that breastfeeding for 2 years is permissible in Islam, so all people should inform the women in their homes about this.
From the event, Dr. Zainul AbIdin Wazir and Dr. Sadiq explained in detail about the benefits of (Breastfeeding) “mother’s milk”.
On this occasion, the doctors emphasized on breastfeeding the child exclusively for up to six months and feeding the child with soft foods along with breast milk from six months to two years.
The speakers further said that by breastfeeding the child can be protected from various diseases and proper development. At the end of the event, a walk was also held regarding the benefits of breastfeeding.
