Failure of Negotiations

Negotiations between the United States and Iran could not take place in Islamabad. Perhaps the United States had already realized that these talks would end in failure. Even before the negotiations, estimates were being made that success would be very difficult. The possibility of failure existed because the United States’ first and foremost demand is that Iran abandon its enriched uranium. The second major demand is that Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz should end. Other reasons for failure can be considered less important. Iran is refusing to accept both of these initial demands.
The deadline for the temporary ceasefire ended on April 22. Even though there is no immediate possibility of an attack afterward, war could still break out. Withdrawing from nuclear energy would prove dangerous for Iran. Even if nuclear energy is not used for military purposes, it has many benefits. Iran claims that it has the right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. Israel can also pressure the United States to start the war. It has long been Israel’s desire to eliminate a threat like Iran.
Shortly before the negotiations were to begin, the US President stopped the negotiating team from going to Pakistan. His stance was that time was being wasted anyway. The leaders of both countries are also issuing harsh statements against each other, which is spreading provocation. These statements also prove that war could start at any time. The American leadership is worried that Iran has not yet been defeated. Some time ago, the US President had claimed that we have succeeded. Donald Trump’s claim is one thing, but the facts are something else. According to many observers, Iran has not been completely defeated. Iran is still successfully defending itself and has forced the United States to sit at the negotiating table. It is true that Iran’s top-tier leadership has been martyred in the war and there has been huge financial loss, but it is still confronting the United States. Control over the Strait of Hormuz is also giving strength to Iran. The US President is also trying to gain complete control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Both sides want an end to this war, but neither is ready to back down. If the United States surrenders to Iran’s conditions, its credibility in the Middle East will be destroyed or extremely weakened. Apart from the Middle East, the United States will also lose its strength internationally in the worst possible way. Iran is already facing severe sanctions, and withdrawing from nuclear energy would prove extremely horrific for Iran. Nevertheless, this war is proving dangerous for Iran because it is facing powers like the United States and Israel. Pressure on the US President is also increasing internationally, and there is an increase in domestic pressure as well. Many countries in the Middle East also do not want the war to start again, because they are being affected. Due to this war, the global economy has also been severely impacted. If the Strait of Hormuz remains closed for a longer period, there will be a significant increase in the prices of oil and other commodities.
Negotiations are not happening right now, but they may start soon. The absence of negotiations does not mean that the situation will remain the same; rather, tensions will increase. The global economy will fall into a very big crisis. The possibilities of war will increase. Tensions in the region will also keep rising. There is a possibility of great instability in the Middle East. More severe sanctions could be imposed on Iran. Iran’s nuclear program could also turn into an “atomic bomb.” The Strait of Hormuz could be completely closed. In the event of war, millions of people could be killed.
Due to the failure or non-occurrence of negotiations between the United States and Iran, a very big war could break out. Iran is weak, but it can confront the United States for some time. According to the US President, we have put tremendous pressure on Iran’s economy through the American naval presence. The Iranian economy is weakening rapidly, and it is suffering losses of millions of dollars daily. Despite so much damage, the confrontation with the United States continues. According to an Al Jazeera report, Iran is certainly weak but can fight for some time. In recent weeks, Iran has accumulated considerable capital due to the rise in oil prices. According to the Al Jazeera report, Iran has 160 to 180 million barrels of oil present at sea, from which it can obtain financial resources at least until August. In addition, fees are being collected from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, which is benefiting Iran. Nevertheless, war should be stopped so that further destruction can be avoided.
