Muhammad Faiq Shah, founder and chairman of the Amun Taraqqi Party stressed the need for early formation of a new government to overcome the prevailing situation.
Talking to various delegations, social activists and lawyers here on Saturday, Mr Shah said people have given verdict through their vote, now it is the major responsibility of the elected representatives to serve all their energies for betterment of the country and resolve public issues on priority basis.
Instead of further political in-fighting, he stressed it is a dire need of the hour to form a government with mutual consensus that would serve the nation best, to bring economic stability and electoral reforms, especially a proportional electoral system.
Shah said ‘Lotacracy’ and manipulative politics had already inflicted massive loss to the country, so it is essential for the country that all parties forge unity while keeping in view the current crisis situation.
The party leader said attempts have been initiated to derail the establishment of a true public reps government and block ways of fostering true democracy as the business of ‘buy’ and ‘sale’ of independents overwhelmed after their landslide triumph in the general elections.
This tendency must be halted and due weight and worth of public mandate, and form a true public representative government forthwith, ATP chief asserted.
Faiq went on to say that the country was currently going through an economic crisis, all the political forces had to lead the country towards improvement through political flexibility.
Political dynamics are changing rapidly, instead of political rivalries all parties should work for the betterment of commoners because today the general public is more aware and informed and only the party will remain in the game which will show his achievements on ground, he added.
