Muhammad Faiq Shah, founder and chairman of the Amun Taraqqi Party called for unified efforts with a cogent policy reform framework to put the country on a path of economic prosperity and development.
Speaking at a seminar held in connection with Pakistan Day here on Saturday, Shah pledged to protect the sovereignty of the country.
He recalled: “Pakistan Day reminds us of the sacrifices and struggles of our ancestors for a separate homeland. Our forefathers laid the foundation for the establishment of Pakistan.”
The party leader mentioned the brutality of fascist rulers in Kashmir and India, adding this cruelty and barbarism serve as a reminder of the value and spirit of freedom.
Shah opposed further burdening the nation with heavy foreign debts and asked to frame free policies to put the country’ economy on the right track.
He mentioned govt and IMF staff-level agreement to pave the way for securing $1.1billion – a fresh tranche of bailout package, stating that inflation stricken people will directly be affected by jacking up power and gas tariffs and other harsh measures following the dictation of IMF.
Faiq stressed the need of adopting a policy of diplomacy for investment, fully utilizing natural reserves and resources to make Pakistan an financial self-reliant country.
Shah alleged the government for snatching the right to life from people.
He said historic increase in price-hike has broken their backbone.
On the other hand, he said a new storm of inflation would come after accepting tough conditions from the IMF.
He called for freeing the nation from clutches of foreign lenders.
