Family protest over custodial death in Attock

Family members, relatives and friends of a wagon driver staged protest demonstration outside office of the district Police officer (DPO) Attock on Sunday after putting the body on the road to register their protest over the alluded custodial death of the man as he was subject to serve torture during police custody.
The demonstrators chanted slogans against the police and claimed that the man had died alledgdly because of police torture.
The family members of the 29 years old Sadeeq Ahmed told media persons that four police officials of Hattain Police station picked the man some 12 days and later thrown his tortured body outside his house.
The victim father said that first he took his son who was servely bleeding to district headquarters hospital Attock from where he was shifted to Holy family hospital Rawalpindi by rescue 1122 due to his critical condition.
On Saturday night, he succumbed to injuries and on Sunday when his body
was handed over to his family for burial, they took it outside DPO office and staged protest.
The victim father while quoting doctors said that acid was inhaled through nose of his son. He further added that his body shows serve torture marks for which policemen deputed at Hattain Police station subject him for 12 long days for what they attributed to carried out for “recovery of a stolen rickshaw”.
He claimed that the doctors at Holy family hospital Rawalpindi informed him that due to serve physical torture the man both kidneys damaged which caused his death. The victim’s mother while crying over the body of his son and beating chest informed media that the victim was lone brother of seven sisters and single bread earner of the family who works as wagon driver.
