Farhan Shaheed Memorial Football Tournament kicks off in Swabi

Swabi has come alive with the spirit of football as the first Farhan Shaheed Memorial All Pakistan Football Tournament commenced with a vibrant opening ceremony. Teams from across the country have gathered to compete in this prestigious event organized by the District Swabi Football Association.
The tournament, held in honor of Farhan, an international football player from Swabi, has attracted teams from diverse regions including Pakistan WAPDA, Police, Swabi, Peshawar, Mardan, Malakand, Quetta, Zhob, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Punjab, Abbottabad, Swat, Bonner, and more.
The opening ceremony was inaugurated by District Football Association Secretary Shakeelur Rahman, who was joined by football coach Waseem Dada along with players and officials from the participating teams. The event was marked by a colorful display of local culture and sportsmanship.
Shakeelur Rahman announced that the winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs 100,000, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 50,000. Additionally, individual awards of Rs 5,000 each will be given to the best goalkeeper and the best player of the tournament.
This tournament not only honors the legacy of Farhan but also aims to promote football in the region and provide a platform for emerging talents to showcase their skills on a national stage.
