With the continuous efforts of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society for the Tribal Districts and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department, a baby girl has opened her eyes in the Primary Health Care Unit of Orakzai district. The BHU has been equipped with facilities by the PRCS where maternal and child cases are now been easily treated said Chairman PRCS for Merged Areas Mr. Asif Khan Mehsud. In addition, to the medical staff, free of cost medicines are provided to the patients due to which more than hundred patients visit BHU on daily basis.
He further added that he feels proud on 09 Basic Health Units (BHUs) Including Mobile Health Units (MHUs) at Ghulam Khan & Khyber, have been set up in tribal districts on the instructions of Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and President Pakistan Red Crescent Society for merged districts which mean that the Government is fully committed to provide every facility at the door step of people belongs to merged districts.
“We did not have money to arrange a car nor could we afford to pay for any other hospital charges. We received free treatment at BHU “Parents shared feelings to our correspondent.
It is great achievement and historical movement that a delivery case has been resolved at Basic Health Unit, since PRCS is providing full support to BHU Karghan and Daran in Orakzai district. The health facilities are now available at the door step of people” Asif Khan Mehsud Added.
