PESHAWAR: The upper areas of Chitral have received first snowfall of the winter season, bringing a significant drop in temperatures and intensifying cold conditions across mountainous regions. According to local administration on Monday, snowfall was recorded in Shandur Top, Khot, Broghil, Madaklasht and several other upper areas, covering high-altitude locations with a blanket of snow. The Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent snowfall in upper Chitral over the next one to two days, with temperatures expected to drop further. The changing weather conditions may disrupt daily activities and create difficulties for residents, particularly in remote mountainous areas. Travelling to higher-altitude locations could also become challenging due to snowfall. Residents have been advised to make necessary arrangements for warm clothing, fuel and other essential supplies to cope with the approaching winter. Tourists and travellers have also been urged to check weather forecasts and road conditions before travelling to upper areas and avoid unnecessary journeys during snowfall. With the first snowfall, winter has officially begun to make its presence felt in Chitral’s mountainous regions, while further snowfall is expected in the coming days. DNA
