Five-day training on economic reporting concluded

A five day’s training workshop on economic journalism for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa journalists concluded in Mardan on Friday.
The workshop was arranged by Right To Information Act with the collaboration of International Business Administration Karachi and Centre for Excellence in Journalism (CJF). The five-day training workshop was organized at IBA Karachi.
During the workshop the journalists were trained about data base stories, investment and trade, economy, infrastructure and urban planning, stock market basics and how to understand the PSX, public sector development programme, border reporting, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa right to information Act 2013.
IBA master trainer Bilal Memon, Riaz Daudzai chairman KP. RTI, Atif Yousafzai, Dr Qazi Masood, Asim Bashir, Dr Raza Gardezi and other trainers in their lectures informed the participants about the role of journalists in the rapid development and improvement in the economy.
They argued that database stories will attract more readers. The speakers also explained the methods to make stories appealing and engaging. The speakers also give detailed briefings about the country’s economy.
They also discuss the public sector development parogramme, Kp RTI act 2013, Stock market basics, Data sources, discussed investment and trade, formal and informal economy and how to cover different sectors of the economy including tourism, religious, mining and transport.
The speaker said that more than half of the economy of the country is not documented.
Dr. Hassan Daud CEO, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa board of investment also gave an online detailed briefing about Kp. BOIT to the participants of the training workshop.
