Explosive-Killed
NOWSHERA : At least five people were killed and one injured when a mortar shell went off in a scrap shop in Camp korona area of Akbar Pura here on Tuesday, Rescue 1122 informed.
The teams and ambulances of Rescue 1122, soon after receiving information about an explosion in Camp Korona reached the site of the incident and started rescue operation. The rescue teams recovered five bodies and an injured person from the site of the explosion.
The rescue teams headed by Emergency Officer, Dr Mir Alam Khan, shifted the bodies and injured to hospital.
Local police said the victims were busy cracking some steel objects in the scrap shop when a mortar shell went off with a big bang, killing five people and injuring another. Police said they were further investigating the incident.
The dead were identified as Zewar Shah, Mukarram, Hazrat Ali, Zahid Ullah and Hidayat Ullah, Resue 1122 said.
