Five of sextuplets die at LRH

Five, out of six children born to a woman at the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), died of health complications.
According to a statement issued by the hospital authority, a woman had given birth to sextuplets a few days ago at the LRH.
They included five baby girls and a baby boy. The hospital spokesperson Mohammad Asim Khan told reporters that the children were less than 850 grams in weight and suffered from Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS).
He said four girls and a baby boy died in the past three days. The woman was brought to LRH from the Mohmand tribal district.
However, it has come to light after the incident that KP, s public sector hospitals have no neonatal ICU facilities which causes deaths of newborns babies on a daily basis.
