ISLAMABAD: Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment (FOPAH) has imposed Rs 10 lac fine on doctor Mazhar Hussain of National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (NIRM) . According to spokesperson fine of Rs 10 lac was imposed after the allegations of harassment at work place and gender discrimination were proved. As per media reports FOPAH Fouzia Waqar announced the decision. According to spokesperson decision was announced after hearing the arguments of both the respondents and statements of the witnesses. The attitude adopted by Dr Mazhar Hussain falls in the ambit of harassment. He impeded the process of sanctioned leave. He cut short the performance points without any reason and initiated victimization based proceedings.
FOPAH Fouzia Waqar imposed Rs 10 lac fine on Dr Mazhar . Half of the penalty amount will be paid to affected lady as damage.
FOPAH has recommended Dr Mazhar be sent to such position wherein he does not hold administrative powers.
