Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a two-member gang of women involved in robbing women visiting markets and commercial areas for shopping.
The women arrested in action taken on the special directives of SP City Division Shahid Adnan.
Police said that Kotwali Police Station carried out a successful operation and arrested two women involved in an organized gang targeting female shoppers in commercial centers.
The operation led by SHO Kotwali Police Station Ijaz Khan under the supervision of DSP Hashtangari Circle Waris Khan, with the assistance of the Ladies Police.
The arrested accused have been identified as wife of Imtiaz, resident of Sheikhabad, and, wife of Rizwan, a resident of Rawalpindi, currently residing in Sheikhabad.
According to police, the gang was involved in robbing women visiting markets and commercial areas for shopping, depriving them of purses, cash, and gold ornaments.
In this connection, a robbery case was registered on January 2, 2026, at Kotwali Police Station on the complaint of the wife of Samiullah, a resident of Dala Zak Road.
During the operation, police recovered Rs 380,000 in cash from the possession of the arrested accused.
Further investigation was underway, and police officials stated that more important and sensational revelations were expected during interrogation.
