Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi led a central rally from Chief Minister’s House to Governor’s House to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day. The rally was attended by National Assembly member Arbab Sher Ali, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, and other officials.
Participants condemned Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and expressed solidarity with Kashmiris. They carried placards with slogans against Indian brutality. A minute’s silence was observed for Kashmir martyrs.
Addressing the rally, Governor Kundi said Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom is legitimate and can’t be suppressed by force. He emphasized diplomatic efforts to secure Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, as per UN resolutions.
Kundi condemned India’s August 5, 2019, move, calling it a serious escalation. He urged the international community to take note of human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiris, and they will soon be free from Indian oppression, he said. The people of KP stand with Kashmiris, who’ve faced state terrorism for decades.
