The district administration organized a seminar at Government Sentinel Model High School to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day. Participants highlighted Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir, including serious human rights violations, inhumanity to women, and enforced disappearances of youth.
Addressing the gathering, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Zia-ur-Rehman said the event was an opportunity to express solidarity with Kashmiri brothers and sisters. “Kashmir Solidarity Day reminds us that the people of Kashmir have suffered oppression for decades, yet their struggle for freedom continues,” he said.
He added that the oppressed people of Kashmir have sacrificed lives, homes, and generations, but the dream of freedom has never died.
“Their sacrifices are a beacon of light for all of us,” he said.
ADC Zia-ur-Rehman reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, stressing that Kashmir’s freedom is a human rights issue, not just a political one.
“UN resolutions testify that the Kashmiri people have the right to decide their own destiny. Today, we pledge to stand with them, raise their voice at every forum, and continue our efforts for their freedom,” he said.
He added that the people of Pakistan stand with Kashmiri brothers, mothers, sisters, and children in these difficult times, and expressed hope that “one day Kashmir and Pakistan will be one.”
The seminar concluded with a solidarity rally from Government Sentinel Model High School to Kachhari Chowk.
The rally was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Battagram, Assistant Commissioners, District Khateeb, Bazaar Union representatives, heads of district departments, and civil society members.
