Says changes in anti-corruption laws and dedicated anti-corruption force on the card

The Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Anti-Corruption Establishment Mossadeq Abbasi emphasized the provincial government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the return of looted national wealth.
Speaking at a seminar marking International Anti-Corruption Day in Peshawar, Abbasi highlighted several measures being implemented, including changes in anti-corruption laws, the establishment of a dedicated anti-corruption force, and the elimination of corruption opportunities within government institutions.
He informed the attendees, including Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, provincial cabinet members, and experts from various sectors, about reforms in different government departments.
Notably, he shared the success of tackling embezzlement in the health department and the introduction of a new system for purchasing medicines, which is expected to save substantial amounts.
The seminar also addressed the illegal gold mining issue in Nowshera and Charsadda, with actions taken against illegal miners, including transparent auctions expected to generate over four billion rupees.
Furthermore, Abbasi underscored the importance of a robust data bank for government lands, mineral resources, and development projects to ensure transparency and prevent corruption.
He reiterated that until the corruption of the elite is addressed, Pakistan cannot move forward on the path of development.
Prominent speakers at the seminar included religious scholar Qari Ruhollah Madani, who emphasized the need for education and training to combat corruption, and Dr. Amir Raza, who highlighted the role of educational institutions in curbing corruption.
Barrister Saif, Advisor to the Chief Minister for Information and Public Relations, discussed the role of media in the fight against corruption.
The seminar concluded with the distribution of shields to participants, marking a successful event aimed at raising awareness and combating corruption.
