ISLAMABAD
Government has called off protest held outside the parliament following the assurances by federal government with reference to their demands.
Minister for parliamentary affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry reached the site and addressed the participants of protest organized by All Government Employees Grand Alliance.
He announced more than 80 percent demands of government employees have been accepted.
Following the announcement by federal minister the demonstrators announced to end protest.
The sit in outside parliament house was ended peacefully.
The employees chanted slogans in support of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and federal government.
Dr Tariq said while addressing the employees that the committee constituted under the directives of PM held serious talks for addressing the just demands of government employees. “ I and Rana Sana Ullah were included in the committee.
Efforts have been made to extend every possible relief to the government employees in the budget in the prevailing economic situation.
He reaffirmed the resolve that protecting the rights of the government employees is responsibility of government and government will continue steps to discharge this obligation.
