Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a detailed visit to the Federal Constabulary (FC) Training Centre in Shabqadar, where he reviewed the force’s operational preparedness and professional training standards.
During the visit, the Interior Minister inspected the training activities of the Special Protection Wing and the Anti-Riot Wing, established under the Ministry of Interior to provide security to foreign state guests visiting Pakistan.
Mohsin Naqvi commended the modern training standards being imparted to personnel and emphasized the importance of developing a highly professional and well-organized force.
He said that the Special Protection Wing is being transformed into a modern unit modeled on those of developed countries.
“The Special Protection Wing will be responsible for providing international-standard security to foreign dignitaries and state guests,” he said, adding that special attention is being given to the wing’s training and capacity-building.
The Interior Minister noted that arrangements have been made for personnel to receive training from foreign instructors, while selected officers and officials will also be sent abroad for advanced training programs.
He directed all personnel to focus on physical fitness, modern weapons training, and professional driving skills. He further said that alongside improving educational qualifications, officials are also being trained in international languages to enhance their professional capabilities.
Mohsin Naqvi also instructed authorities to procure modern anti-riot equipment to further strengthen the force’s operational effectiveness.
Highlighting the role of the Federal Constabulary, the Interior Minister said the force plays a vital role in maintaining peace across the country and supporting the fight against terrorism. He added that the organization is being transformed into an efficient and dynamic force capable of addressing future security challenges.
During his visit, the minister toured the barracks and interacted with trainees, inquiring about the quality of food, available facilities, and any issues they faced.
He issued on-the-spot directives to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply in the barracks and ordered the provision of all necessary facilities for personnel.
He also directed authorities to initiate the construction of a gymnasium and swimming pool at the training centre.
Earlier, Inspector General of the Federal Constabulary briefed the minister on the training programs being conducted at the centre.
According to the briefing, trainees currently represent all provinces of Pakistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. For the first time, 35 female personnel have also been included in the training program.
Senior officials present on the occasion included the Deputy Inspector General of the Federal Constabulary, the District Officer FC, the Deputy Commissioner of Charsadda, the District Police Officer Charsadda, and other relevant senior officers.
