Govt given deadline to nab killers of tribal journalist

Residents of Landi Kotal gave the government five days’ deadlines to apprehend killers of tribal journalist, Khalil Jibran who have been Martyred by unknown militants four days back in Mazreena village of Sultan Khel.
In grand Jirga and protest sit-in initiated at Thakya ground of Sultan Khel,Tehsil Landi Kotal on Saturday speakers including Tehsil Chairman Shah Khalid, Awami National Party district President Shah Hussain Shinwari,Pakistan People Party(PPP)Khyber leader Shah Rehman Shinwari,Jamat-e-Islami Tehsil Ameer Murad Hussain Afridi, head of Khyber Transport Association Shakir Afridi,Malik Abdurrazaq,Ziaul Haq Afridi,Hazrat Wali and others condemned the brutal killing of innocent local journalist and said if the police and the security agencies fail to arrest the culprits then they have no other option but to lift weapons and launch hunt for the murderers.
They also sought intervention of the Chief Justice of Pakistan to intervene in the matter and probe the murder of a media person through judicial commission.
Poor performance of security agencies have disappointed them therefore they will restore peace in their area by launching a purge operation against the militants, they warned.
They maintained that in the next phase they will arrange a protest sit-in in front of forces cantonment to make them feel to provide security to them as they cannot afford more martyrs.
Transferring of District Police Officer or Commandant Khyber Rifles is not the remedy but to change the policy against militants they added and said war has become a business for some people that must be halted with joint efforts of all sections of society.
They went on that the Pakhtun belt is the most affected area of proxy war therefore time has come to say no to terrorism and wipe out the militancy of their area themselves.
Their agitation will continue till restoration of peace in the area, the protestors vowed.
At the end the participants took a rally to Sultan Khel market and dispersed peacefully.
