Govt recovers 4 billion for electricity theft, fines in last year

ISLAMABAD
Government recovered more than 4 billion, 670 million for electricity stealing and fines in last years, energy ministry issued numbers on Sunday.
Only 832 people arrested while 36 thousand FIR filed for stealing electricity.
Action also taken place against 124 discos officials.
Overall 9 discos have imposed 1 billion 70 million 36 lacs and 40 thousand unites on their consumers, which cost 15 billion, 250 million and 15 lacs, 80 thousands rupees, While all discos have recovered 4 billion, 670 million 18 lacs and 30 thousands rupees which is 30.63% recovery.
Document made it clear that: –
PESCO has filed 410733 electricity stealing cases and 263 people have been arrest in which no department official was included.
GEPCO has filed 1683 cases and made no arrest.
FESCO lodged 1146 cases and 34 arrests.
IESCO made 204 cases and 3 people arrest.
MEPCO filed 10702 cases and arrested 263 arrests and action also taken place against 1 department official.
HESCO has lodged 13 cases with no arrest but action taken place against 75 officials in electricity stealing and other allegations.
SEPCO filed 65 cases to make 4 arrests and 13 officials also faced actions.
KESCO entered 53 cases to arrest 18 people and action taken place against 10 officials.
LESCO lodged highest cases of 2382 to arrest 247 arrests and 25 officials also faced action.
